What makes a real estate website great?

August 8, 2017

Lots of real estate professionals have their own websites, either independently or through their agency, but there are plenty of ways to make those sites really stand out from the rest.

The most important thing any agent does with his or her website these days is to make sure it's responsive, which is to say that they looks great on any device used to access it, according to marketing expert C.J. Giarratana. People tend to browse the web on desktops and laptops, tablets and phones, and they come in all shapes and sizes. If images look out of whack or the text runs out of its intended frame on certain devices, that's an issue that needs to be corrected immediately.

In addition, it's wise to build that website into an overall marketing strategy; it's vital to make sure the branding on a site matches what's on yard signs, business cards, and mailers.

Find the right design
The good news is that many web services, such as WordPress, give agents the ability to find a website "theme" that will help them show off any information they want, often at little or no cost, according to Colorlib. These are typically already "responsive" and extremely customizable to boot. This can help ensure branding effort gets off the ground properly, with all fonts and colors lined up with what agents use on their marketing materials.

In particular, though, agents may be wise to choose themes that allow them to highlight pictures or video they take or all the listings they have available, as attractive, eye-grabbing media can lead to more real estate sales.
